Maven Youth
Maven Youth is a nonprofit organization empowering LGBTQ+ youth to “network, organize, and educate for social change through technology and the tech sector.” They provide a safe space for LGBTQ+ youth ages 14-24 across the country by offering summer camps, a youth leadership council, workshops, apprenticeships, leadership retreats, hackathons, and networking experiences.
Code2040
Code2040 is committed to achieving full representation and leadership of Black and Latinx individuals in the innovation economy. It accomplishes this through fellowship programs, tailored mentorship, and robust early-career support for students and professionals. They offer direct service programs, clear pathways to the tech industry, and community resources for Black and Latinx communities entering the tech industry.
Black Girls CODE
Black Girls CODE is an organization dedicated to decreasing the gender gap in technology by offering young Black girls and gender-nonconforming youth hands-on workshops and after-school programs in coding and other technological areas. They partner with schools, local organizations, and dedicated volunteers to offer in-person and online learning opportunities to girls, women, and nonconforming individuals aged 7-25. Their programs go beyond coding skills, equipping participants with the knowledge and confidence to realize their dreams.
Out for Undergrad (O4U)
Out for Undergrad (O4U) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help high-achieving LGBTQ2+ undergraduates reach their full potential. For students hoping to embark on a path in tech, they offer the O4U Digital and Engineering/Life Sciences conferences that bring together students and corporate recruiters for professional development, mentorship, networking, and recruiting.
Women in Tech: Mentor in Tech
Women in Tech hosts the Mentor in Tech program for women in STEM careers who are seeking mentorship in leadership, technology (data science, software development, and more), working in startups, digital marketing, project and product management, business analytics, and design.
Out in Tech
Out in Tech has over 50,000 members and is one of the “world’s largest nonprofit community of LGBTQ+ tech leaders.” Out in Tech aims to create opportunities for members to “advance their careers, grow their networks, and leverage tech for social change.” The organization also offers a mentorship program for LGBTQ+ youth aged 17-24, pairing members with mentees to help them learn technical and professional skills.
Lesbians Who Tech & Allies
Lesbians Who Tech & Allies is a “community of LGBTQ women, non-binary and trans individuals in and around tech (and the people who support them).” The organization aims to connect LGBTQ+ tech workers and to create a network of colleagues and friends in the industry. Lesbians Who tech also offers the Edie Windsor Coding scholarship, which grants scholarships to LGBTQ+ women and nonbinary tech workers to help kickstart their technology careers.
Latinas in Tech
Latinas in Tech hosts a mentorship program that provides encouragement and direction so mentees can develop their skills and set and achieve career goals. They also offer events, chapter engagement, and community networking to support Latina technologists.
Merit
Merit’s mission is to help tech workers grow their craft, careers, and confidence, especially those in under-networked and underrepresented groups. Mentees can find product management, engineering, and design mentors to help them build their network, skills, and careers.
Queer Design Club
The Queer Design Club is a global community for LGBTQ+ designers, including graphic, UX/UI, developers, digital illustrators, and product designers. There’s a board where users can post their profiles and resumes and network with other members.
